Despite rumours tying him to Barca, David Villa has reminded the press that he still has four years remaining on his Valencia contract....
As reported by AS, Valencia striker David Villa publicly declared today: "My future is resolved." But after continual links with Barcelona, Villa reminded the press that he continues to "count on the four years remaining in my contract" with Valencia.
However, El Guaje also avoided questions about his immediate future. When asked about the possiblity of a number of Spanish internationals leaving Los Che in the summer, Villa commented that all four (Villa, Carlos Marchena, Juan Mata and David Silva) will return to Valencia to play... or for other activitites. "It's a great city and I hope to return to play or take part in other activities - even when I am 50 years old."
Villa continued to leave the exit door ajar, declaring: "If there are movements, they will be before or after the World Cup, never during. One has to be cautious and wait.
"I have not spoken to Xavi, Puyol, Pique or Busquets," said El Guaje when asked specifically about a signing with Barcelona.
